Job Description
Chiyoda is looking for a Contracts Engineer, a direct hired position at the Chiyoda Global Headquarters (CGH) office in Yokohama, Japan. Candidates with a minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in contract preparation, negotiation, administration or management is preferred.
Job's Purpose:
Apply professional skills and expertise for participating in the development of corporate procedures, house training for contract management and commercial awareness and providing contracts management function support globally. This includes responsibility for supporting projects from inception to completion to ensure consistent use and application of contracts management procedures and tools.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University and/or professional qualification preferred (or equivalent years of experience).
- Large or mega project experience, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of the construction work, cost and estimating tools/methods, and systems.
- Knowledge of contracting laws and regulations, standards of conduct, contract types, contracting methods, financial and legal matters
- Knowledge of critical path method (CPM) scheduling techniques and analysis.
- Experience in acquisition planning, drafting requests for price, proposal preparation, negotiations, and source selection
- Experience in project initiation, contract administration, change management, claims and disputes, and contract closeout
- Experience in the oil & gas industry or in other type of energy industry.
- Experienced in negotiation and problem-solving / analytical skills.
- Knowledgeable in contract modeling software.
- Proficient in use of MS Office software applications.
- RICS, IACCM, CIArb, or similar is a plus.

- A sound knowledge of, and experience working under, HSSE requirements on EPC contracts for a major contracting organization
